World Cup: Why this Chelsea star was not available vs Senegal

England were without Chelsea star Raheem Sterling during their game vs Senegal.
The Football Association before the match on Sunday had confirmed Sterling was “dealing with a family matter”.
The Chelsea forward started the 6-2 win over Iran and the 0-0 draw with the USA.
Gareth Southgate, however, left Sterling on the bench for their 3-0 win over Wales in their last group-stage game.
Sterling was expected to start against Senegal but was not even included in the matchday squad.
A statement from the FA read: “Raheem Sterling is not available for selection for the Three Lions tonight as he is dealing with a family matter.”
The game was won by the Three Lions as they thrashed Senegal with a 3-0 scoreline thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.
They will now face France in the quarter-final of the ongoing world cup.
