World Cup: English FA take decision on Chelsea star rejoining squad
The English football body the FA has taken a decision on Chelsea star Raheem Sterling rejoining the Three Lions square in Qatar at the ongoing world cup.
In a statement released on Thursday, the FA confirmed that Sterling would return to England’s World Cup base in Qatar on Friday ahead of their quarter-final match against France clash this weekend.
“The Chelsea forward temporarily left to attend to a family matter but is now expected to rejoin the squad in Al Wakrah on Friday (9 December) ahead of the quarter-final with France,” the statement read.
Sterling had flown back home before the round of 16 tie against Senegal after his family home was broken into.
The Blues star’s home was raided by armed invaders last Saturday while his partner and young children were in the house.
