Why this former Chelsea coach will not replace Ole at Old Trafford
Former football star Gary Neville in a recent statement, has stressed that former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte can’t replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
This comes as there have been calls for the sack of Solskjaer at Man Utd following their recent loss to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
The game, which ended in a 4-2 win for the Foxes, is the third game Man Utd will lose in a row.
However, Neville, in a statement, stressed that Conte couldn’t replace Ole at Old Trafford as he doesn’t fit Man Utd.
“Conte won’t be the manager at Manchester United I don’t think,” Neville said during an Instagram Live on Sunday.
“I don’t think they will go for that option, personally. He’s a great manager, but I think certain managers fit certain clubs and I don’t think Conte fits United personally.
“As I say, great manager but it doesn’t feel right for me.”
While a viewer said that Conte would win the title if given the right squad at Man United, Neville replied: “I’m not into that, giving someone a squad. We tried that with Jose Mourinho.”
“Give Jose a squad and we will definitely win the league, we didn’t win the league, and in the end it was a mess and everybody wanted him out.”
