Why this 21-year-old join Chelsea from Man City
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has reacted to Cole Palmer’s decision to move to Stamford Bridge from Man City during the summer transfer deadline.
The 21-year-old sealed a deal from the Etihad to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day.
Palmer joined the West London club in a deal worth around £40 million and could make his first appearance for Chelsea against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Pochettino said Palmer joined Chelsea because he could get more games at the club.
“He decided to come because he expects to play maybe more and be important here, but I think that is not the most important,” the Argentine told the press during Friday’s pre-match press conference.
Pochettino added: “He decided to come because Chelsea is a project for him, to improve his game, and to be more involved in every single game.”
The Argentine manager stressed that the 21-year-old England youth team star has quality and great potential.
