Why Jorginho deserves to win the Ballon d’Or

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel in a recent statement has revealed that the Blues midfielder and Italy international, Jorginho deserves to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or.

Tuchel, in his statement, stressed that apart from winning the Uefa Champions League with Chelsea last season and the European Championships with Italy, Jorginho deserves it because he is a very intelligent player.

Jorginho has been named among the players to win the award, and he would compete alongside Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, N’Golo Kante, Kylian Mbappe.

Jorginho deserves to win the Ballon d’Or,” Tuchel said during an appearance at the annual Sports Festival in the Italian city of Trento, according to Football Italia.

“He’s a very intelligent player, and it is a pleasure to be his coach.”

“He has a great vision of football,” Tuchel added.

“For me, individual prizes don’t have great significance; it is impossible to make a real comparison between several players of different roles.”

The winner of the Ballon d’Or is scheduled to be announced in November.

Although Messi stands a chance of winning his 7th Ballon d’Or, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if another player picks the award ahead of the Argentine star.
