Everton star, Anthony Gordon in a recent statement has revealed he refused the £60 million move to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

According to Gordon, he doesn’t think himself or any other footballer is worth £60m and believed the figures were ‘crazy’.

Gordon was a late target for the Blues at the backend of August and some pundits believed the Blues were crazy to price the youngster such a huge sum of money.

The reports during that period claimed Chelsea led by Todd Boehly were ready to pay as much as £60million for the 21-year-old, which would have made him one of the most expensive British players ever.

When asked about Chelsea’s approach, Gordon said: “That’s football nowadays – it’s absolutely crazy.

“Personally, I don’t think any player is worth that amount of money but I’m also not going to talk myself down.

“The money in football, that’s just how it is nowadays. I wasn’t too focused on that because I can only control what I can control.

“That’s part and parcel of football. When you’re doing well, there’s always going to be that speculation.”

He added another reason was that he was not desperate to leave Everton.
