Why former Chelsea manager wouldn’t be in a hurry to take up job at Man Utd
Former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte is one of the favourites names that has been mentioned to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford following Man Utd devastating defeat to Leicester City over the weekend.
Well, former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp thinks Conte may be interested in taking over Solskjaer at Old Trafford should the club decide to sack the Norwegian.
Redknapp, however, thinks that the former Chelsea manager who has also been linked with Newcastle Utd wouldn’t move to the Magpies as he may be waiting to see what happens in Manchester.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Newcastle’s 3-2 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, Redknapp said: “You need the right man managing the team, he’s still going to be the most important man, he sets the tempo, he sets good examples, to find a good manager right now, there’s mooted about Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Antonio Conte, Conte maybe has one eye on what’s going on at Man United.”
Conte had a good outing with Chelsea and was also impressive at Inter Milan last season as he helped them win the Italian Seria A.
