Why Chelsea should be worried after defeat to Arsenal
Chelsea have reasons to be worried after their recent loss to Arsenal in the pre-season tour in the US.
The game saw the Gunners scoring four goals thanks to efforts from Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga, while Chelsea were unable to score a single goal at Camping World Stadium.
Their defeat to Arsenal is a big blow and a sign that they don’t stand a chance to go head to head against Man City and Liverpool, who dominated the EPL last season.
Thomas Tuchel speaking on the defeat said his side lost to a team that wouldn’t be playing in the Champions League next season as he pointed out why they need to sign more players this summer.
“Given our last two weeks, our game today, we should not mention the two teams (Liverpool and Manchester City) in front of us,” Tuchel was quoted by Football London as saying after the game.
“We got absolutely beaten by a team that does not play Champions League football next season and finished behind us. But at the moment, they seem far ahead of us.”
