UCL: Real Madrid goalie tells Chelsea fans not to boo him
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibault Courtois has made a demand to Chelsea fans ahead of their face-off in the Uefa Champions League.
Courtois, who was a goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge before he forced a move to Real Madrid, said he is happy to return to the West London club, where the Uefa Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie will be played on Wednesday night.
And Courtois hopes the Chelsea fans will not give him a poor reception.
“I hope that they don’t boo me, but you never know,” Courtois told Real Madrid’s website.
“I am prepared for whatever comes and we will have to see how it goes.
“I hope it is a happy return to Stamford Bridge. We are now rivals. They will want to win and the same goes for me too, and so I am not expecting any applause from the fans.”
Aside from Courtois, another former Chelsea player that could return to Stamford Bridge for the match his Belgium international Eden Hazard.
