UCL: Defender to miss Chelsea game vs RB Salzburg
Chelsea will return to action in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday night when they face Austrian club RB Salzburg.
The Blues head to the match after their recent 1-1 draw vs Man Utd in the EPL last weekend.
Ahead of the match, Chelsea manager Graham Potter in a pre-match statement with the press revealed that Kalidou Koulibaly will be unavailable for the match.
According to Potter, Koulibaly, who missed the Man United game at the weekend was battling a knee problem he sustained during their match vs Brentford.
Owing to the injury, Koulibaly didn’t travel with the rest of Chelsea’s squad, he has, however, been tipped to start during their next games.
‘It’s not too serious,’ reported Potter.
‘This game was too soon for him. We’re hoping to get him on the grass Wednesday or Thursday, but he’s obviously not available for tomorrow night.’
Other Chelsea players on long term injury that would miss the match include N’Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana and Reece James.
