UCL: Chelsea vs Lille – Possible prediction

Chelsea will return to action on Tuesday night in the Uefa Champions League round of 16 first leg when they host Lille at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will head to the match after they defeated Crystal Palace in a 1-0 scoreline will hope to do the same when they meet Lille.

Chelsea, who are the defending champions, are being tipped to win the match, especially as it would be played Stamford Bridge.

Former England international Michael Owen has tipped the Blues to emerge winners.

Owen stressed that Lille struggled to make it out of their group and believes they wouldn’t go beyond the round of 16.

Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor: “First up this week. We’ve got the defending champions, Chelsea. Lille won Ligue 1 last season, which was an amazing achievement, but they’ve struggled this year. They sit in 11th place domestically, and this is a huge step up for them. Lille did well to make it out of their group, but I fancy this will be as far as they go this season. Chelsea 2, Lille 0.”
