EPL: the Two Chelsea player likely to be be unavailable vs Wolves
After their 1-1 draw vs Everton on Thursday night, Chelsea will resume yo action on Sunday when they face the Wolves in a game that could see them drop to the fourth spot of the league table or close the gap between them and EPL toppers Man City and Liverpool.
Ahead of their games vs the Wolves, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has suggested that at least one of Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek would be unavailable for their Sunday’s Premier League fixture at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
While Jorginho and Loftus-Cheek played in the Blues, drew 1-1 with Everton on Thursday evening, Tuchel has received the injury boost after the return to fitness of Trevoh Chalobah and N’Golo Kante.
And this means the German manager may choose to rest Jorginho and Loftus-Cheek.
While responding to a question bothering Mateo Kovacic, who recently returned to training on Friday after battling coronavirus, Tuchel gave hint that he may have to play the Croatian this weekend.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Tuchel said: “Jorginho is in doubt for Sunday because he is in pain. We have Ruben Loftus-Cheek in doubt because he is in pain. Do we know that they can travel with us tomorrow? No we don’t. I don’t know if it is possible.
“Maybe we start with N’Golo and Mateo. Would that be fair? No. Would that be possible? I don’t know, but maybe we do.
Kovacic has been out of the Blues squad since October 26 and had only returned to training when he tested positive for coronavirus in December.
