Tuchel’s take on Chelsea’s interest in Cristiano Ronaldo
Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel has reportedly given his take on his side’s decision to sign Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
According to the reports, Tuchel has ruled out any possibility of signing Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The claim was made by respected CBS Journalist Ben Jacobs, who said there is no suggestion that Tuchel wants Ronaldo at Chelsea.
He disclosed this in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Saturday night.
Chelsea were linked with moves for Ronaldo after the Blues’ new co-owner Todd Boehly reportedly held talks with the player’s agent Jorge Mendes.
“Manchester United respect Cristiano Ronaldo’s request but a ‘satisfactory’ offer won’t just be financial. MUFC are very reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival. Club irritated by a meeting between Jorge Mendes and Todd Boehly,” Jacobs tweeted.
“Not too much should be read into that meeting, though, in this context. Told Ronaldo was discussed but he was not the reason or focal point for the meeting.
“Boehly introduced himself and multiple names were spoken of. No indication Tuchel wants Ronaldo.”
Meanwhile, Man United have been given a huge shock with reports claiming on Saturday that Ronaldo has asked to leave the club if a reasonable offer comes in.
