Tuchel turns down coaching job from former club

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is yet to return to the dugout following his unexpected sack at the west London side some weeks ago.

Tuchel’s sack came as a surprise as he had only led the Blues to seven games into the new season, having invested heavily in new players in the summer transfer.

Following Tuchel’s sack, former Brighton boss, Graham Potter, was appointed as his successor barely 48 hours after.

A report by Sport 1, via Sport Witness, has now revealed that Tuchel has already been approached about a return to the dugout.

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Gerardo Seoane, has come under significant pressure in recent times, and the report claimed that the Bundesliga club “made contact” with Tuchel to know his position ahead of a potential change.

However, Tuchel clarified that he was “not interested” in the Leverkusen job.

There are no details on whether Tuchel’s decision was driven by a desire to take a break or by Leverkusen’s perilous league position, with the German club currently second from bottom in the Bundesliga.
