Tuchel rules out striker’s departure from Chelsea

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has reacted to the report linking Germany international Timo Werner with moves away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

There are growing reports that Werner who joined the Blues from RB Leipzig wants to leave the club, having struggled to impress at the west London side.

Werner is keen on getting more game time and may have to look elsewhere to get it.

But the Blues manager in a statement told reporters he does not know about Werner seeking to leave Stamford Bridge.

According to Tuchel, Werner has not informed him of his decision to leave the club this summer as he added that the German star still has to prove himself.

Asked if there is any substance behind the reports, Tuchel told reporters on Friday: “I don’t think so.

“I don’t know about it, Timo has not talked to me about it.

“At the moment I think he wants to make his way at Chelsea. He has still to prove a point.”
