Tuchel hints on Werner remaining at Chelsea reveals the way he can improve
While many had anticipated that the Blues would at least sign out Timo Werner on loan in the coming summer transfer window owing to his not so good performance this season, it however, appears Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel is keen on keeping him at the club.
This comes as Tuchel in a recent statement hinted that Werner would remain at Stamford Bridge while revealing how the striker can get better.
Recall that Werner arrived at Stamford Bridge last season under Frank Lampard, however, he has struggled to score goals for the Blues.
He has scored only six goals for Chelsea this season despite the high expectation.
Tuchel believes Werner can get better playing in front of a crowd at Chelsea, adding that the support of the Blues’ fans can help him and other players overcome difficult moments
Speaking during a press conference on Friday ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League final match of the season vs. Aston Villa on Sunday, Tuchel said: “I spoke about it with the board in our very first talks that I had the feeling it was a young team and looking at the characteristics from outside – not just with Timo – that the board shouldn’t forget the influence of not having the supporters helping them overcome difficult moments in matches.”
