Tuchel hails one player as Arsenal defeat Chelsea 4-0

Following the Blues’ 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in a pre-season Florida Cup final on Sunday, Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has singled out player in the person of Kalidou Koulibaly, their new defender, who he said was the best player on the pitch.

The Gunners thrashed the Blues at Camping World Stadium in the USA, with Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga finding the back of the nets.

Asked about Koulibaly, who made his debut for Chelsea, Tuchel said at his post-match press conference after the game, “He was the best player on the pitch for us.”

Chelsea signed Koulibaly from Italian Serie A club, Napoli.

The Senegal international was Chelsea’s major second summer signing in the ongoing summer transfer window.

He arrived at Chelsea after they had signed Raheem Sterling from Man City.

The recent loss to Arsenal saw Tuchel call on the club’s hierarchy to work on signing new players before the summer window closes.
