Tuchel gives his opinion on Mason Mount
Chelsea returned to action on Wednesday night following the sack of Frank Lampard as they faced the Wolves in the Premier League.
While the game ended in a goalless draw, some of the Blues fans were however left in shock when the Blues new coach, Thomas Tuchel didn’t start Mason Mount in his squad on Wednesday night.
This is because Mount was a key player in the Blues squad under Lampard and many had hoped he would retain his spot under the former PSG coach.
However, in a post-match statement, Tuchel revealed why he didn’t start Mount.
He revealed that he wanted to take the weight off his shoulders and give the responsibility in the game vs. Wolves to a bit more experienced player.
Tuchel stressed that there is nothing to worry about as he revealed that he likes what he has seen from Mason so far.
“Such a nice and competitive guy. Every game I have seen so far, Mason cares for Chelsea, 100 per cent, “Tuchel said.
He added that he is very happy to have him around and will not stop pushing him and guiding him.
Mount will hopefully return to action this weekend against Burnley in the Premier League.
