Chelsea considering a summer move for Manchester City star
Chelsea are apparently weighing up a summer approach for Manchester City defender John Stones.
John Stones has just 16 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, having dropped down the pecking order at the club.
The 26-year-old is in the last two years of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, and there have been proposals that he could leave the Citizens looking for new pastures.
As per report, Chelsea have distinguished the ex-Barnsley youngster as a likely signing during this present summer’s transfer window.
The report asserts that Frank Lampard’s side have internally examined the chance of signing John Stones as they hope to bring another defender to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2020-21 season.
Newcastle United and Arsenal have also been referenced as likely admirers for a player who has won two Premier League titles, two EFL Cups and one FA Cup during his time in Manchester.
Chelsea are expected to sign another centre-back this summer, as the Blues hasn’t been good enough defensively this season. There are many defenders on Chelsea’s radar, and it remains to be seen which centre-back they will sign eventually.
