Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is eager to storm his former club Barcelona so as to secure the signing of young midfielder Riqui Puig whose stats shows he has more dribbles than Raheem Sterling.

Guardiola is not a stranger to Barcelona or it’s academy as the Spaniard was able to make a name for himself during his time at the Spanish club .

Though Guardiola has reinforced his Manchester City team every transfer window, he is eager to sign Riqui Puig during the January transfer window, according to Fichajes.

Guardiola is said to be a huge fan of the young midfielder and will be eager to battle Bayern Munich for his signature.

The talented young midfielder has an uncertain future at Barcelona due to a lack of playing time and may refuse to sign a contract beyond 2021, Manchester City are trying to pounce on the opportunity.

The 21-year-old made his senior debut in 2018/19 but last season was his breakthrough season as he averaged a successful dribble every 42.3 minutes in the La Liga, which was better than Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling (47.5) in the Premier League.

Manchester City will be pushing for a move during the January transfer window as Puig is behind Sergio Busquets, Frenkie De Jong, Miralem Pjanic and Carlos Alena at Barcelona
