Timo Werner made the right choice to join Chelsea rather than Liverpool, says Michael Ballack
Michael Ballack demands Chelsea is the ‘best place’ for Timo Werner and has applauded his choice to join the Blues instead of Liverpool.
The new Premier League champions were accepted to be leading the line to sign Timo Werner, who has delighted in four sublime seasons at RB Leipzig, scoring 95 goals in 159 matches.
Chelsea accepted a deal to sign the Germany striker a month ago, however, Ballack accepts the talented forward will be an ‘astounding signing’ for Frank Lampard.

Michael Ballack stated: he settled on the best choice, and it’s only him who can make that choice.
‘You need to understand certain things, how much playing time you will get and how significant a role in the squad you will have. Liverpool have won the Premier League and Champions League.
‘How could Timo Werner hope to dispose this front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane and play regularly?
‘Chelsea are building a young team, another team, with a young mentor. It is an extraordinary project to be a piece of, given how young Timo Werner is.
‘To be the main striker, at a tremendous club like Chelsea, is the best spot for him. He can have more greater effect than he could at Liverpool.
‘In spite of the fact that Liverpool and Manchester City’s squad is a lot more grounded than everyone else’s at this moment, Chelsea are starting to make an extremely serious team.
‘It will require some investment, and Timo Werner is simply part of that journey. You need the profundity, however in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner Chelsea have the start of a team ready to challenge for titles once more.’
Timo Werner turned into Lampard’s second signing as Chelsea boss after Hakim Ziyech.
Ballack included: ‘Timo and Chelsea is incredible fit. Chelsea don’t have this sort of player right now.
If he plays to what he is extremely good at, he will be a stunning signing for Chelsea. It is an extraordinary club to play football.
