Timber tells Arsenal manager his best positions

Arsenal summer signing Jurrien Timber has sent a message to the club’s manager Mikel Arteta on the positions he can play.

Timber who moved to Emirate Stadium from Dutch club Ajax in a deal worth £40million revealed he can play in three positions.

The defender, who was unveiled as the Gunners’ latest signing on Friday in a statement compared Arsenal’s style of play to that of Ajax as he described himself lucky.

“I think that I’m lucky to say that I can play as a central defender, as a right full-back, sometimes even on the midfield. So I think that’s a good thing and I need to keep that.

“I just like the way Arsenal play, is a bit similar to Ajax’s style and I like to play from the back. I can see a lot of similarities, especially in the way Arsenal and Ajax want to play,” Timber said after his unveiling.
