This Chelsea star named the best in England

Former Liverpool star and Aston Villa current coach Steven Gerrard has named Chelsea star Mason Mount as the best in England.

Gerrard made this known ahead of Aston Villa’s Premier League clash with Chelsea on Sunday.

According to the Liverpool star, he disclosed he is a ‘massive fan’ of Mount and believes the midfielder will be part of England’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“I have watched his [Mason Mount] progress – of course, I have,” Gerrard was quoted by Daily Express as saying.

“He’s a big talent for the country. I am a massive fan of Mason.

“He plays with a smile on his face. He can create, he can score and he is already a European Cup winner, so I don’t think he needs the likes of myself to big him up or praise him.

“But I must say I am a fan. I just hope he doesn’t have such a strong performance at the weekend.

“I think he is only going to get better the more he plays and the more experience he gets.

“He is already certainly one of the best players in the country. I have no doubts that he will be in the next squads for a lot of tournaments.”
