Man City manager, Pep Guardiola has reacted after his side lost to Chelsea in the final of the Uefa Champions League.

The Citizens had hoped to lift their first UCL title lost it to the Blues after the latter got a lone goal in the first half thanks to an effort from Kai Havertz.

Speaking after their recent defeat, Guardiola noted that his side has learnt a lesson from the game.

He noted that Chelsea put up a strong defence and were also quick with counter-attack.

He, however, noted that the Citizens will one day return to win the trophy.

”It’s an exceptional season we’ve had. It’s an honour to be here.

“In the second half, we were brilliant and brave. But they defended so strongly and were so fast on the counter-attack. We will come back maybe one day again.

Speaking on why he started without a recognized defensive midfielder and striker, Guardiola added: “I did what was best for the team [on selection].

“He [Kevin de Bruyne] was injured but this happens. In these kind of games, we need everyone. The ambition now is to the rest, and then game by game we will come back and hopefully return to this stage in the future.”
