Ten Hag reveals former Chelsea star to return Vs Burnley

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that Mason Mount would return when they take on Burnley this weekend.

Ten Hag made this known in a post-match statement after their 4-2 win against Sheffield United.

During an interview with the press, Ten Hag was quizzed on if any sidelined defenders were due to return against Burnley on Saturday, with Casemiro having to again act as a makeshift centre-back against Sheffield.

While Ten Hag revealed that no defender on sideline will return against Burnley, he, however, confirmed that Mount, who joined the Red Devils from Chelsea will be available.

No, not yet. We have to be patient for it, the Dutchman replied to BBC’s Match of the Day.

“For coming back for the game against Burnley, I don’t expect [them]. Mason Mount, he will return, I think.”

Mount’s return to the Red Devils squad will serve as a boost for the manager’s options ahead of the game against Burnley, as Casemiro’s adopted defence role means numbers are also reduced in midfield.

Recall that the last time Mount played for Man Utd was in a short cameo at the end of their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

Since then he has been sidelined for the Reds’ previous two games.
