Ten Hag rates Onana, Mount vs Wolves
Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has shared his take on Andre Onana and Mason Mount’s performances as they made their Premier League debuts in the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Wolves on Monday night at Old Trafford.
Although the Red Devils won all three points vs Wolves, it was a poor performance from Man Utd’s squad.
Mount, who moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea this summer managed just 30 touches and failed to create a single chance before he was replaced by Christian Eriksen on 68 minutes.
Onana, on the other hand, was lucky to get away with a penalty in added time after battering into Sasa Kalajdzic as he registered a clean sheet.
During his post-match statement, Ten Hag insisted that Onana had a very good game against Wolves, while Mount put in a good performance.
The manager said, “[Onana] had very good saves, was very calm, very good debut.
“After the opponent touched the ball he dived in so it was the judgement of the officials and lucky for us no penalty. I think you can debate it but I think no penalty.”
He added, “Good performance [from Mount]. He did what we expected him to do. He had a very good level in the game.”
