Summer window: Cole Palmer and 3 other players that could leave Chelsea
Chelsea might lose some of their key players at the end of the season as speculated by the club’s former midfielder Mikel Obi.
In a statement via his podcast, Obi predicted that the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo could be receive interest from other clubs.
The former midfielder questioned the Blues’ current transfer model and if it would see the team win trophies.
“Right now, we have players like Cole Palmer, players like Enzo Fernandez, Marc Cucurella, Moises Caicedo… when they start getting phone calls from the likes of Real Madrid,” Obi said.
Mikel tipped Spanish club Real Madrid as one of the top clubs that could show interest in Chelsea players in the summer.
“Florentino Perez [Real Madrid president] is a master in stealing players from clubs,” he said.
“That’s why I question it [Chelsea’s current model] and that’s why I say: what is the objective? The objective of this club has to be winning, winning trophies,” Mikel added.
The loss of key players like Palmer and Cucurella would heavy loss for the Blues ahead of next campaign. There are no confirmation yet on if Chelsea will sell this players.
