Sterling to fly out to join Chelsea pre-season tour
With Man City star Raheem Sterling close to sealing a deal with the Blues in the coming days, the latest report has revealed that he would join the Blues squad on their pre-season tour of the United States ahead of his big-money move.
Chelsea are said to have reached an agreement to sign Sterling for an initial fee of £47.5m.
This comes after he had already agreed on personal terms with the Blues.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea will announce Sterling’s arrival from Man City within the next 24 hours, after which he would join his new teammates in the United States later this week.
The Blues’ pre-season begins with a Florida Cup clash vs Mexican outfit America on Saturday.
Sterling would not play in the match but could make his debut when the Blues play against Charlotte four days later or in a London derby with Arsenal on July 23 in Orlando.
Sterling during his time at Man City scored 131 goals and created 94 assists in 337 appearances across all tournaments since joining them from Liverpool in 2015.
He also won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, five EFL Cups and two Community Shields.
