Silent moves: Wolves beat Chelsea to signing of Sport Recife star

The summer transfer window has come with an unexpected surprise as recent report revealed that Wolves have silently beat Chelsea to a deal for a new player.

According to David Ornstein, Pedro Lima,  would not be leaving Sport Recife to join Strasbourg, with an eye on one day moving to their sister club, Chelsea.

Instead, Wolves were said to have come in from nowhere to sealed a deal for Lima.

A statement from Sport Club Recife revealed that the club has signed a binding agreement to transfer the economic and federative rights of athlete Lima to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

As of the time of this report, no transfer fee has been revealed but it’s likely to be a small amount compared to some of the figures that have been trending this summer.

Goal had previously predicted that Lima could be as cheap as £6m, making it an easy deal for the Wolves to handle.

While this a good deal for Lima as he doesn’t have to wait for Chelsea to sign him from Strasbourg, it is, however, a blow for the Blues especially if he turns out to be an impressive player in the Premier League.
