Shearer names former Chelsea star who has impressed him at Arsenal

Former Premier League star, Alan Shearer in a recent statement named Arsenal forward, Kai Havertz, as the player who has impressed him this season.

This was after the former Chelsea star’s brilliant form in Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Southampton on Saturday at Emirates Stadium.

The Germany international scored for the sixth consecutive time at home over the weekend.

Havertz scored an impressive equalizer for the Gunners at the 58th minute, after Cameron Archer had opened the scoreboard for the Saints.

The German star’s goal over the weekend has taken his overall tally for this term to six goals in all competitions.

Shearer while speaking on the Rest is Football podcast stated that the former Chelsea player is now a “real center-forward.”

The Premier League legend said he believes that Havertz has been impressive in terms of his performances and goals.

Aside from scoring goals, Shearer said Havertz’s hold-up play, his involvement in the team, bringing players into the game, and challenging for balls as well as trying to make it awkward for defenders has made him impressive this season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will hope he is available for their next match after the international break.
