Rooney wants to sign this former Man Utd star

Birmingham’s new manager Wayne Rooney is on the course of rebuilding the team as he plans to help them get promoted to the EPL.

To achieve this, Rooney is keen on making some new signings and has been linked with moves for former Man Utd player Jack Butland.

Recall that Rooney was signed as a replacement for John Eustace as Blues boss and will take charge of his first match on Saturday at Middlesbrough.

However, the former football star is already planning his squad make-up and is keen on Butland, who joined Man United on loan from Crystal Palace last season.

Rooney will have to wait till the next summer to be able to sign Butland.

This is because Butland has since moved to Scotland, where he was signed by Rangers on a four-year deal.

A report via the Sun revealed that Rooney wants to bring that deal to an end at the earliest opportunity and tempt him back to the Championship with Birmingham.
