Ronaldo hailed after 1-1 draw vs Chelsea
Manchester United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick has reacted to his side performance against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Rangnick in a post-match statement praised Cristiano Ronaldo’s attitude and quality after he scored again in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Thursday.
The first half of the match was silent, but Man United went one goal down in the second half after Marcos Alonso found the back of the net for Chelsea at the 60th minute.
Ronaldo then controlled Nemanja Matic’s pass and smashed the ball past Eduoard Mendy, scoring an equaliser for the Red Devils in the 62nd minute.
The 37-year-old has now scored United’s last five goals and is their top scorer with 23 goals.
“Ronaldo’s attitude helping in our own half at the age of 37 isn’t normal.
“If he plays like he did today he can still be a great help for this team.
“In the end it is Erik (Ten Hag) and Cristiano’s decision,” Rangnick said.
Despite the draw, Man Utd chance of finishing in the top four on the EPL log is now very low.
