Reports: Chelsea’s deal with 22-year-old star progressing well

Chelsea might not be able to sign Erling Haaland or Romelu Lukaku this summer but the blues are progressing in their deal to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

Kounde has been linked with clubs across Europe with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly agreeing a deal with Sevilla before things changed after the player refused the move.

However, Chelsea’s plan to outsmart their London rival is working, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who claimed talks are going well between the two clubs.

According to Romano while speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Chelsea are working on a deal and it’s an exclusive news because the blues are working to sign Jules Kounde.

Romano stated that he was told negotiations are progressing well though nothing has been agreed but Chelsea and Sevilla are working on it.

He noted that transfer fee is really interesting because Kounde has a release clause for €80m.

However, Sevilla and Chelsea are discussing to find an agreement on a different price and structure of the deal adding that the picture will be more clearer in the coming days.

Kounde scored two goals and made one assist in 34 La Liga games for Sevilla last season and he also made one appearance for France at Euro 2020.
