Reports: Chelsea eager to sign Lionel Messi alongside Romelu Lukaku

Premier League side, Chelsea has joined the latest club to be linked with Lionel Messi despite their interest in Romelu Lukaku.

Lionel Messi is currently the most sorts after player in Europe after Barcelona announced that he will not be renewing his contract at Camp Nou.

With the Argentine forward available on a free transfer, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City were immediately placed as the favourites to sign him.

Though Man City boss Pep Guardiola has all but ruled out a move for the South American this summer, PSG are already said to be in direct contact with the attacker.

A new report from AS has now claimed that there is firm interest from Chelsea.

The report stated that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is keen to arrange a meeting with Messi’s representatives to discuss a potential move to London.

It is also reported that Chelsea will still ensure that they sign Lukaku this summer despite the interest they have in Lionel Messi.
