Reports: Chelsea deal for your defender on hold as they pay attention to Lukaku

Chelsea are still interested in signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde this summer but their attention is now placed on Romelu Lukaku.

Thomas Tuchel is on the lookout for a defender and a striker this summer transfer window with Lukaku the preferred candidate in the attacking department.

Kounde has also been identified for the centre-back position but Chelsea are yet to agree a deal with Sevilla.

Though reports claim Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Kounde, Sevilla are eager to receive his transfer fee in cash with Chelsea willing to pay cash plus player.

With the deal taking too much time to be concluded, Chelsea are reportedly shifting their focu away from Kounde deal as Lukaku become the number one priority.

According to Sport (via Sport Witness ), Chelsea want to complete lukaku’s deal before finding a way to secure the deal for Kounde.

Some reports have also claimed that Chelsea’s pursuit of Kounde is hitting some setback because of some players that has not agreed to join the Spanish club as part of the deal.
