Reports: Arsenal given green light to sign highly rated midfielder on loan deal
Arsenal are currently the biggest spender at the ongoing transfer window but that has not reflected in their first two matches.
Having lost to Brentford in their first match, Arsenal continued their bad form against Chelsea who outclassed them at Emirates Stadium.
With pressure now piling on Mikel Arteta, the Spaniard is reportedly willing to sign a new player that can turn his season around.
A latest report from fans has now revealed that Arsenal have been handed encouragement in their efforts to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon.
Arsenal have been linked with the midfielder for a while but their £32 million bid was rejected by Lyon, who were demanding a €60m (£55.5m) fee.
The Gunners failed to continue the deal this summer and it seems Lyon are finally willing to sort out a deal.
According to Get French Football, Lyon would be prepared to let Aouar leave on loan but an obligation to buy would be included as part of the deal.
Mikel Arteta is still in need of a midfielder as Lucas Torreira will be leaving the club before the transfer window closes and Aouar will serve as a good replacement.
Aouar still has two years remaining on his current contract with Lyon and Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly interested in him.
