Raya speaks on situations at Arsenal

Goalkeeper David Raya who arrived at Arsenal from Brentford on a loan deal in the recent summer window has emerged as the Gunners’ main man at the goal.

Raya appears to be manager Mikel Arteta’s favourite ahead of Aaron Ramsdale.

And this has caused some competition in the Arsenal squad with some football pundits advising Ramsdale to leave Emirate Stadium next transfer window if he wants to keep playing football.

Raya in a recent statement revealed his intention to keep fighting for his spot in the Gunners squad.

“I’m going to fight for it,” Raya told The Athletic.

“Arteta gives me the confidence to be there, that he wanted to have two top players in each position, and it was up to me to find the time and fight to get the minutes. I don’t want to think beyond that. If there are rotations, as there are in any position, I’m going to help on and off the pitch.”
