Premier League legend insists Lampard shouldn’t be shocked over sacking at Chelsea for this reason
Though it’s been weeks since Chelsea took the bold step of sacking Frank Lampard as the manager of the club, legendary Premier League players are still sharing their opinions on his dismissal.
A run of poor performance from Chelsea in Premier League saw them slip to ninth under Frank Lampard and Roman Abrahimovic who has become famous for sacking underperforming coach dismissed the club’s legend.
Manchester United legendary defender Gary Neville has now revealed the main reason why Frank Lampard should not be shocked he was dismissed due to his past under some managers as a player.
Gary Neville while speaking on his podcast show insisted that Frank Lampard will be hurt and disappointed for what has befallen him.
However, he should remember the role he played during the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas who joined the club in 2011 as a young coach.
Gary Neville stated that he remembered back in Napoli eight or nine years ago, when Villas-Boas had picked a team in the afternoon of a Champions League game and he left out Frank Lampard, Michael Essien and another big player at that time.
Instead of accepting the coach decision, Gary Neville noted that he remember Chelsea players at that time ringing up members of the media and trying to get him out and Frank was part of that group.
Gary Neville who was leaving no stone unturned added that it has been really a brutal football club for managers for many many years, and Frank has suffered that brutality last week, so he should be the least of all surprised because he has been at the club when Villas-Boas was sacked, Scolari, and all the rest of them have come and gone.
