Potter reacts to Jorginho’s move to Arsenal
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has finally given his opinion on Italian midfielder Jorginho’s departure from the club to Arsenal.
Recall that the Italy international left Stamford Bridge for the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day in a shocking transfer move.
According to Potter, the midfielder’s departure was best for all parties involved after the £10 million move.
Chelsea went on to replace the Italy midfielder the same night with a British transfer record signing Enzo Fernandez for £106.8 million.
Jorginho was at Chelsea for five years, playing 213 games and scoring 29 goals.
The Italian won the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League, and FIFA Club World Cup during his time with the Blues.
And he could soon lift the EPL with Arsenal who are the current league toppers.
“For the four months I worked with him, he’s been fantastic,” Potter said. “but sometimes you have to make a decision and it was something [that] could secure more stability for his family and it was a win for everyone.”
