Chelsea manager Graham Potter has heaped praises on Brazil star Thiago Silva after another impressive run in the defence during their Saturday match vs Liverpool.

Thanks to the defence, Chelsea were able to keep Liverpool away as the game ended in a goalless draw.

Speaking about Silva in a post-match on Saturday, the Blues boss said: ‘He’s got a footballing brain above everybody pretty much, because of how long he’s played at the highest level, the players he’s played with and against, his references are so strong.

‘He can help the team, and help individuals. Benoit there, it was only his second game in the Premier League, surely benefits from playing alongside Thiago Silva. Everyone does. He’s a leader off the pitch, on the pitch, and a really important player.’

Chelsea remain seated at the 10th spot on the Premier League table.
