Position Nkunku could play at Chelsea revealed
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino in a recent statement has revealed the position Christopher Nkunku could play at the club.
Pochettino made this known while he was reacting to claims that the France star could end up being used as a striker next season.
This comes as Chelsea defeated Brighton 4-3 in the 2023 Summer Series over the weekend in Philadelphia.
While the Seagulls opened the scoreline, Nkunku fired an equaliser in the first half for the Blues, as Mykhailo Mudryk, Conor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson scored one goal each.
The match against Brighton saw Nkunku play as a striker for Chelsea, with Carney Chukwuemeka just behind him and Raheem Sterling and Ian Maatsen on the flank, which stirred speculations he could maintain the position next season.
Pochettino told Chelsea TV, “Well I think Nkunku can play in different positions.
“For the circumstances in these two games, we use him as a striker, but he can play like an offensive midfielder, like a No.10, like a No.8 or on the side also.
“But he’s a fantastic player and he’s improving every day.”
