Pochettino identifies midfielder that will play key role in his squad

Argentine international and former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, who has been tipped to be Chelsea’s next manager has identified Mason Mount as a key player in his squad.

This comes amid doubts surrounding Mount’s future at the club.

Pochettino is believed to be keen on working with the English midfielder, who he views as a potential key player in his squad.

A report via the Daily Mail further revealed that the former Tottenham manager is a big fan of Mount’s work rate and technical ability.

Mount will be out of contract at Chelsea in June 2024 and there has been little progress in regards to the negotiations on a contract extension.

Amid the uncertainty surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge, Mount has been linked with a summer exit, with Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Arsenal all showing interest and willingness to sign him.

Like Chelsea, Mount has struggled to impress this season, scoring only three goals and creating six assists in all competitions.
