Nkunku, Neto shine as Chelsea thrash Barrow 5-0

Chelsea pulled an impressive performance against League 2 side Barrow in their match in the EFL Cup on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.

Manager Enzo Maresca rested Nicolas Jackson while making use of Christopher Nkunku who scored a hat-trick as Chelsea cruised into the fourth round of the EFL Cup, defeating Barrow 5-0.

The changes Maresca made had no effect on the Blues form as they cut through their opponents to emerge victorious.

Nkunku, who was the man of the match, maintained his top form following his two goals against Servette in Conference League.

In the second half, Nkunku fed Mykhaylo Mudryk on the left, before the Ukrainian made a pass to Pedro Neto, who scored his first Chelsea.

Neto, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Wolves in the summer transfer window, was also impressive during the match.

Nkunku’s recent performance for Chelsea may create competition for Jackson as manager Maresca now have another reliable striker he could pick.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will return to action this weekend in the Premier League when they play against Brighton and they will hope to maintain their top form against the Seagulls.

It is yet to be known if Maresca will consider playing Nkunku over Jackson this weekend.
