Newcastle United have entered the race alongside Arsenal to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke this summer, as Chelsea prepare to offload several players.

The West London club, having already made key signings including Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens, are now focusing on trimming their squad ahead of the 2025-26 season.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca plans to streamline the squad to around 23 players. This strategy means several first-team players, including Madueke, could be deemed surplus to requirements and made available for transfer.

Other notable players expected to leave Chelsea this summer include Axel Disasi, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, as well as Renato Veiga, Armando Broja, and Ben Chilwell. The club is keen to reshape the squad with fresh talent while managing wages and roster size.

Madueke, an England international known for his pace and creativity on the wing, has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs. Both Newcastle and Arsenal see him as a valuable addition to bolster their attacking options.

As the transfer window progresses, the competition to secure Madueke’s signature is likely to intensify, with Chelsea ready to negotiate to reduce their squad size and give their manager the streamlined team he desires for the upcoming campaign.
