Mourinho reacts to Amorin sack at Man Utd
Benfica boss Jose Mourinho has reacted to the sack of Ruben Amorin as manager at Manchester United.
The Portuguese stated that he cannot analyze the situation properly, as only Amorim can shared why the Red Devils sacked him.
Recall that the Premier League side caused a wave of reactions in the football world after they dismissed the 40-year-old on Monday and are now on the search to bring in an interim coach.
Mourinho, a former United manager himself, also said Amorim’s sack would not block opportunities for his compatriots.
He said: “What happened with Ruben is something that only Ruben can analyse and I believe he will do it, he and his staff.”
When asked if Amorim’s dismissal at Old Trafford would have a negative impact on the job prospects of other Portuguese managers, Mourinho replied: “I do not understand why it would, but each coach will answer for himself.
“For me, no, I do not feel it that way.”
Rumours have linked Man Utd with moves for Michael Carrick, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Darren Fletcher, among others to take up the interim role.
