Midfielder leaves Chelsea by mutual consent
Chelsea midfielder and England international Ross Barley has left the club by mutual consent and is now a free agent.
The report of his departure has also been confirmed by Chelsea.
Barkley, who joined Chelsea from Everton in January 2018, made 100 appearances for the Blues in all competitions and scored 12 goals.
His memorable goal was his injury-time equaliser against Manchester United in his first full season at the Bridge.
At the end of that season, Barkley lifted the Europa League with Chelsea as he scored a spot-kick in the shoot-out victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the semis and then coming off the bench in the win against Arsenal.
Barkley also scored for Chelsea against Liverpool and Leicester City in the 2020 FA Cup.
The midfielder’s last match for Chelsea was against Watford in May, and his late header was the goal that secured all three points for the Blues.
Barkley’s next clubs remain unknown as he is yet to reach an agreement with a new club.
