Merson reacts to Man City’s decision to let this player join Chelsea

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has reacted to Manchester City’s decision to let Cole Palmer join Chelsea this summer.
Palmer had his medical at Stamford Bridge on Thursday before completing a summer move from Man City to Chelsea.
A deal of around £40-£45m was agreed between the two clubs for the 21-year-old versatile attacker.
So far this season, Palmer has scored two goals in three appearances for the Citizens.
Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino was keen on the club signing a new attacking option ahead of Friday’s summer transfer window deadline.
Merson said he was shocked the Citizens would let Palmer move to a rival club like Chelsea.
“I think he is a good player,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Yeah, a bit shocked, if I am being honest, a bit shocked, but good signing, good player. He has got a goal about him.
“It’s a good signing.”
