Maresca speaks on Palmer 4-2 goal Vs Brighton

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has reacted to Cole Palmer’s four goals in their weekend match against Brighton in the Premier League.

Palmer scored all four goals in the first-half, as the Blues won all three points, despite Georginio Rutter and Carlos Baleba both scoring for the Seagulls.

Yeah, for sure, when you score four goals. I just said to Cole, he scored four but he could have scored two or three more. It is important he continues to be hungry and ambitious.

Maresca in a post-match statement recalled how he had known Palmer from many years ago.

The Argentine disclosed he had Palmer for one entire season at Man City and then the first-team.

According to Maresca, Palmer remains exactly that way two or three years ago, stressing that the goals and assists, the best player in the Premier League, among others does not change the way he is.

He rated Palmer as a top player who has scored many goals, created artists and has not changed.

“He is a simple guy, a humble guy – and for me, this is the most important thing,” Maresca said.

Meanwhile, Palmer is expected to be in action when they Blues face Gents in the UEFA Conference League
