Man Utd offered former Chelsea striker
Man Utd have been offered the chance to sign former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid this summer.
Morata returned to Madrid following two years on loan at Italian side Juventus and has been considered surplus to requirements by Atletico club.
According to ESPN, this is where the Red Devils come in as they have the chance to sign the Spain international, as they are in the race to sign an experienced striker before the end of the transfer window.
Aside from his struggles at Chelsea, which he joined from Real Madrid in 2017, scoring 24 goals in 72 appearances in all competitions, Morata has other impressive stats outside the EPL.
The Spain international scored 20 goals in 44 appearances during his loan stint at Juventus in 2020-21, while he scored 12 goals in 48 outings in all competitions for the Italian side last season.
Morata’s current contract with Atletico Madrid doesn’t end until June 2024 but he has been told he is not in the club’s plan.
It is believed the striker would consider a transfer to Old Trafford if the opportunity comes knocking.
