Man Utd making progress in bid to sign striker

Football Journalist Miguel Delaney in a recent update disclosed that Manchester United have made progress in a bid to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United are said to have focused on the England U21 star as one of their top targets to lead their attack next season.
According to Delaney, Man Utd’s main priority for the summer, is to sign a new striker and Delap has been marked by the recruitment team as the ‘ideal’ player for their long-term strategy.
The English star also has an cordial relationship with Man United technical director Jason Wilcox from their time together at Manchester City, an advantage the Red Devils could use to sign him.
Delaney added that Man United would get a major boost to sign Delap if the win the Europa League final next week.
Man Utd will make it to the Champions League next season if they manage to defeat Tottenham in Bilbao on Wednesday, further boosting their chances of signing their preferred target.
Man United are also in for competition for Delap from Newcastle United and Chelsea.
The 21-year-old striker with a release clause of £30m is expected to leave Ipswich after the season following their relegation from the EPL.
